I am going to be implementing a multisite system that will be quite large and have a complex set of requirements. I think this module might be a good base, it seems quite flexible. There are a couple things I am concerned about:
1. Size of database (trying to backup a database that contains 500 sites would be a bit of a mission). Maybe we can configure it with a choice between different database or different table prefix.
2. Use of OG withing one of the sites. - If I want one of the sub-sites to use a standard OG system, would it conflict? I think I might look into subgroups to see if this would be feasible.
You mentioned here http://drupal.org/node/137364#comment-231082 that you will be continuing development in future. I would be interested in seeing the features you have planned (a roadmap for this module)

It looks unlikely that the original client will contract further work on this module. I have no current plans to do more development. Patches would be very welcome for any of the above issues, as would new ideas for enhancements.
