Due to frustration with the event module, I've decided to roll my own with CCK and Calendar. I would like to see RSVP easily integrate with other nodes other than event nodes created by the events module.

I'm a newbie, but I will dig around and see if I can force RSVP to use my "event" node instead, and will post it here. But a nice configuration interface would be nice where one can use the default event.module event node, or select another (even more than one?).

Hello there,
First: I don't know where did your frustration come from but please think about it in a more practical fashion: if you don't like something about the "event" module then the best way is to write the maintainer (killes) and submit some patches.
Second: event module version 5.x-2.x will soon be released with a better integration with views, some other features and bug fixes. I am trying to help killes but I have done nothing yet so hopefully you can.
Third: I am working on a RSVP integration with views and sooner will roll-out a version sporting this feature.
Finally: thanks for your contribution.
