When you use Googles video search(http://video.google.com) which searches through several, if not all, of the big video portal sites. It would be useful if you could just copy the url in the address bar and it would be parsed and displayed correctly. Right now it just shows the google video player but it can't play the video.

Here's an example Google video URL of a youtube video: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5275484805559738447&q=the+hives...

I realize that you can use the URL/embed code from the video portal site but support for the google video url doesn't hurt, right?

ah, yeah, odd how they do that. i'll have to look into it -- the problem is they're embedding videos from other providers themselves, which means there's no easy way to determine which provider a specific url is using. it'd be useful if they have a public api, which they didn't a few months ago. i'll look into it again.

thanks,
aaron

Google video doesn't work this way anymore (as far as I can tell). It now sends you directly to the video. Reopen with a working link if this is still an issue.
