I have a potential client that already has a site set up at lunarpages.com and wishes to stay there. I'm hoping to convert the site to Drupal and am just interested in any feedback, problems encountered, success stories, etc.
Thanks!

This question may be better suited for the lunarforums.com.
That may be
but I have come to trust and respect the opinions of the great Drupal community here, so I just thought I would ask.

I understand. My search of drupal.org for keywords lunarpages, did not turn up anything fruitful. so i googled lunarpage drupal and found http://www.developerdotstar.com/community/node/91
which is why I posted my statement.
however, the non fruit below: http://drupal.org/search/node/lunarpages

I've been searching hard for a good hosting for my Drupal project (Ebay blog) and heard some feedbacks for LunarPages, most of them (on WebHostingTalk) were negative: LP shared servers configured for static content, but not for dynamic.

Thanks for the input gunwitch
you might check out site5.com. I've been using them now for a little over a year and they are pretty good. Very good customer support. Lots of disk space and drupal 1 click installs to boot.

Drupal via Fantastico?
I noticed LunarPages is offering scripts via Fantastico. What you might find of interest is that they're currently not offering Drupal via Fantastico ( http://www.lunarpages.com/desc/fantastico.htm ). That perhaps might be telling enough as to whether they're Drupal friendly. Hosting companies will often "pull" an application off their list if they see it taxing to their servers.
Still, if you're client doesn't want to leave LunarPages...perhaps it may be worth trying to meet your customer's needs as he/she wishes. If it is shown that LunarPages doesn't host Drupal well...offer the client something better. Sometimes clients need to be shown that their ideas are lousy before they'll consider your idea.

DrupNewb.com on Lunarpages
I set up DrupNewb.com on Lunarpages last week. I did have to install Drupal myself, it was not on fantastico. I didn't find it too difficult to do, I just took the whole Drupal zip file, uncompressed it, and moved it up with ftp to my Lunarpages server. The only thing that did not work straight off not work was the automatic cron job. I have manually run that, but have not sorted the issue out...
Drupnewb gets very little traffic so far, so I can't say much about performance. I do have a bunch of my own pre-Drupal custom CMSs that get a fair amount of traffic, like www.fluffycat.com and www.newtosandiego.com, on Lunarpages, and they run pretty well. As with any shared server, if one of the other hundreds of sites on the same server as your site stresses the server your site's performance will be affected.
Lunarpages is quality, but not to unlock all that drupal can be.
Lunarpages and Drupal.
I have been using Lunarpages for a while now and have recently adopted Drupal as my core for most developments. I have found lunarpages to be limited in it's friendliness with Drupal and I'm ready to switch to a new server. Lunarpages isn't up to date with the newest php/sql technologies. They do have great support, though.
I have come accross good reviews for DrupalValueHosting, a drupal designed server and I will be trying that out next round of hosting contracts.
Anyone have any good experience with other servers besides lunarpages?

The technical support team in
The technical support team in Lunarpages are SUPERB. Their technical support team are always willing to help and never push problem to each others especially if you have dedicated server hosting with them. Their forum is also great, question post, always a reply with a short period of them. Price is reasonable.

so far, so good
I am installing drupal 6 on Lunarpages as we speak. A few configuration issues, but other than that smooth sailing.
Will update if anyone remains curious

I would love to hear how it went and if you could provide the basic steps of the install. :)

Do clean URLs work for you? I installed Drupal 6.16 last week and get a "Your system configuration does not currently support this feature." I have tried modifying my settings.php and .htacess to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also wondering about Clean URLS with Lunarpages
Has anyone managed to enable clean urls with a drupal install on Lunarpages? If so, could you let me know how? I've been struggling with this for some time now and, from what I can tell, the server is not looking at my .htaccess file whatsoever.
Thanks,
