panels settings form does'nt validate Panel_name: field input correctly

On the settings page, the help text says:

A unique name used to identify this panel page internally. It must be only be alpha characters and underscores. No spaces, numbers or uppercase characters.

But I was able to put in a "-"

Further investigation suggests I can also add numbers, capitals etc. so looks like the validation's just missing from that field.
