There is not a single clue in the README or anywhere else I've found about what this module is supposed to do, how it's configured, what options it's supposed to provide where.

However, I did an install of the module downloaded from http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/openid-5.x-1.x-dev.tar.gz to my working Drupal 5 site. I was pleased to note that a "Log in using OpenID" link was added to my login block. Clicking that link modifies the block to request an OpenID identity, that's fine. However, when I provide a valid OpenID identity, it simply dumps me back to the default login. No error message, no nothing.

This behavior is unchanged whether or not I go into my User Settings page and associate OpenID identities with my existing Drupal user, or not.

What's happening here? Does this module actually work for Drupal 5? Is there something else I need to configure?

Same problem here. It's really strange because other people have been able to get it up and running.
