Description

Hi,

More and more websites do not use login anymore and just email instead for login.

Look at facebook, google, or myspace for example.

Users just login with their email adress.

The concept of login is too much geek for common users. And users only remember their email adress in general.

Do you think it is possible for drupal 7 to remove login from drupal as an option, not only from loggin page but also from the account ?

Thanks

+1 for this. It should at least be an option to use email addresses instead of usernames.

Title:Leave the concept of login as an option» Allow login using email address

Adjust title to be more descriptive.

+1 for this request

I'm surprised there is no module that does this.

There is: http://drupal.org/project/logintoboggan

I am by far up to date, but I think there was some discussion to merge this module into D7 core.

I also found: http://drupal.org/project/email_registration

The ideal setup for my website is having an email used for login and the display name be the persons real name. This would be the same setup as Facebook and other social networking sites.
