I'd like to have more options for expiration that are longer than 1 week, or even an open field. Many of my editors need not review their nodes more often than every 3 months.

astoltz commentedI plan on doing some extra work on my module within the next few weeks. I will add this to my list of things to do (including possible performance improvements, getting ready for Drupal 6, and adding the requested feature to add schedules to other things like auto publish/pin/unpin/delete.)
What longer delay times would you like to see added?

jiangxijay commentedI'd like to see:
- 1 month
- 3 months
- 6 months
- 1 year
Thanks for asking!

astoltz commentedI think there's some confusion here.
"Expiration Time" - Already has these options. This is where the expiration date is chosen for "Expire After Last Update"
"Expiration Date" - This is an option field if you want to enter the date/time of expiration.
The only thing left, then, is "Timeout for automatic unpublishing". This is how long it takes after expiration to automatically unpublish a document. I have added more options for this for up to 18 weeks (roughly 4 months).
If you are referring to something else, please let me know.

jiangxijay commentedYou're right, completely my fault! I saw "Settings", but not "Defaults" in the Node Expire menu. (Garland doesn't use tabs but light blue text for those links.)
I'm still working to understand the various options, but they clearly cover everything I was considering!
Since I opened the ticket, am I allowed to close it?
