Hi. Having gotten a playlist content type working with the extended xspf player which can be chosen at:
Administer | Site configuration | Audio settings | Players
... I would like to start using one of the Wijering players-I know other people are doing this but can't figure out how to make it available... Is it possible to add it to the list on the Players page? I have been unable to do that, though I have Wijering's Media Player installed so that SWF Tools can see it. But it seems like there is no relationship between the new Audio module and SWF Tools-is there?
Anybody out there have any advice/hints?
Thanks.

It doesn't look to tough to create a new player in there,
Maybe 45 lines max, and you have a template already with the existing players.
I don't know anything about the playlist feature of the audio module.. yet.
Post your .inc when you're done!

zirafa commentedThere is a theme function you could override to force your own player...although it would be nice to see a patch that would allow it to be configurable.

butler commentedThanks very very much for the replies sgriffin and zirafa... but, any possibility of a little more detail? I have middling php dev skills, am considering making an attempt at a patch but am not yet a Drupal dev and it would be good to find a temporary solution to this-I sense the other people I am working on this project w/ are losing interest in/patience w/ Drupal (I initially suggested using Drupal as a way to streamline the project and it has been taking me a really long time to get this up and running) and this is really the last thing standing in the way...
sgriffin, would patching this involve one patch or more than one-would it be just a matter of writing a .inc for the Wijering player and dropping that and attendant .swf in modules/audio/players... or ...?
Zirafa, could you point me in the right direction re: that theme function override? Which function(s) would I be overriding:
audio_get_players()
.. or... ?
Also, zirafa, am I right in thinking that neither Swftools 5.x-1.1 or xspf_playlist-5.x-0.5 have anything to do with new audio.module and it's attendant functionality-they would be included as dependencies if so, yes? Is use of xspf playlists now independent of xspf_playlist?
Thanks again, MUCH appreciated.

design.er commentedAre there any news regarding this feature?
I think a lot of people would like to use the JW Player for playlists.
Unfortunately I'm not (yet) a coder. But I would like to help - with testing and reporting. :-)
Best Regards,
Stefan
