Upon viewing the Status Report page (/admin/reports/status), I receive this error/notice:

Notice: Undefined index: version_major in update_calculate_project_update_status() (line 595 of /home/account/public_html/drupal/modules/update/update.compare.inc).

I've had this since installing D7.13, and in D7.14, and in D7.15. My site is still in maintenance mode if that helps at all.

The same issue. Drupal Core 7.15.

Same issue here. Drupal 7.15. The error message went away after running update script once.
What I did before the error appeared was to rename the site's directory. Initially I gave it a temporary name while developing the site. Then I switched the official URL on to Drupal, which made it necessary to rename the site's directory according to the URL.

Same problem here. It has effected how some modules are working too. My Display Suite cannot update field displays, and changing the format filters has no effect, i.e. not accepting the changes, but only indication is this notice when updating.

Can I just check if anyone is using an automatically installation script provided by their hosting company? I haven't come across the problem previously until using one of these scripts.

Thanks a lot

Ian

I among using an automated script from my host. I used the Aquila dev installer, but with a core install.

Sorry, predictive text!! That should read, I am not using an automated script

Mine was a clean install from a full Drupal installation downloaded from Drupal.org -- no scripts.
