Default Forum/container not selected when using "Create Forum topic" link under group menu [#175462]

When I go to a forum and add a topic from within the forum, the default forum is correctly selected.

But, when I'm in a group page and select "Create Forum topic" under the group menu, No default is set, even though the gid is sent in the link (ie. http://www.mysite.com/node/add/forum?gids[]=195)

The default is just the very first element of the dropdown list.

Also, is there a way to limit the options of the dropdown list to JUST the relevant group's forums?? thus having to go to each groups page or forum to post to their forums?

Note: I seem to remember hearing about this issue prior, and I just installed 2.0, but it didn't fix it.

What??? In my installations, if I am in a group, the drop down is limited to those forums in the group whether I browse the forums and topics first and click on the internal "Post new forum topic." link or the menu's "Create forum topic" link. So when you ask

that should be the default behavior.

So if I'm in a group called "Bob's group" and there are forums called "Bob" and "Robert", those are the only ones showing up for me using both links listed above. If I use the "Create forum topic" link, then "Bob" would be selected because it is the first alphabetically. This is normal.

It sounds like you have an issue relative to your installation - i.e. another module is screwing things up. What other access control or forum or taxonomy related modules do you have installed? Try disabling them one at a time and see if the problem goes away.

Or are you having some other problem?
