contrib folder that suppose to contain Embedded Audio Field,
Embedded Image Field and Embedded Media Thumbnail is missing on module unless not needed anymore.

Did anyone ever figure out what was happening? I tried all of the 7.x releases and there's no contrib options at all.

You should move to https://www.drupal.org/project/media D7 code more and less only exit to provide a migration path.
