Third Level of Tabs with hook_menu()

Hi. I have successfully used hook_menu to create a primary and a secondary task on a page. However, I don't know how to create extra levels beyond the two. A book that I have says: "Additional levels are supported by the underlying system, but your theme would have to provide support for displaying these additional levels". Unfortunately it doesn't provide any further information. Could anybody point me in the right direction?
