I would like to add a non-intrusive "Undo consent"-link to the Thank you-popup. Clicking it will remove the cookie that was just set, and also any GA cookies that may have been held back (if #1744852: Disable Analytics tracking until user accepts policy) is accepted. It will then reload the page (normal client-side caching may apply, so it should not add performance overhead).

I have created the feature already, and will upload a patch tomorrow. If it is accepted, I may port it to Drupal 7.

This is the code I have currently. I still need to:

  1. Conditionally show the Undo-link in the template depending on whether the option is enabled or not
  2. Conditionally remove the GA cookies, depending on whether the Google Analytics module is enabled or not

Oh, and it still needs styling ;)

Here's the complete patch. It is somewhat dependant on the GA stuff in #1744852: Disable Analytics tracking until user accepts policy, but should degrade nicely without the patch. In that case, the "Undo consent"-link will just remove our own cookie, and not the GA cookies.

Aaaand .. the patch :)

I think this patch is ready for review.

Here is a cleaner patch which removes the GA stuff (it belongs in another issue), has better animation and proper support for the bottom popup.

Should be easier to review ;-)

I think it makes little sense to work on this for 6.x at this point.
achton, are you interested at all in writing similar functionality for 7.x/8.x?
