Roadmap for v1.1

Here is a start to a roadmap for what I'm considering for new/improved functionality in Features 1.1:

Features UI improvements

• General UI, Preview, Remove Ajax, Improve auto-detect removal: #1400298: Removing auto-detected components from a feature (UI update, removing Ajax), #1810134: Improve Features UI (featuresUI-1.1 branch)
• Select/Deselect All: #885996: Select All for permissions
• Filter list of components (no issue yet)

Other improvements

• Support new tarball format: #1529066: Features implementation of tar truncates file-paths at 100 characters
• Update/Generate/Export button: #1294272: Features Generate to file system
• Modify path for Update/Export: #1524794: drush fe only looks in sites/all/modules (drush, will add another issue for UI support)
• Allow changing machine name: #1331886: don't disable machine name in rebuild form -- it prevents renaming of features

To be considered

• Fixing menu links #860974: Menu Links will not import/revert or moving to another module #1153028: menu_links_features_export_options() dies with too many items. plus several others...menus are a bit of a mess.
• Export/Import edit form (similar to Views) to allow editing and Importing: (issue?)

Specifically NOT considered

• Anything related to big architecture changes since this will need to be addressed in v2.x with Drupal 8
