Hi, Are there any forum module replacements? I need a more up-to-date forum. This one is extremely rudimentary.
called uieforum. It's not as integrated though.
There are also integrations to php (v2) and SMF.
Disclaimer though - I've not used any of them!
Gareth
Take look at: - drupal phpbb module - http://drupal.org/project/phpbb (integration of drupal and phpbb) - http://drupal.org/project/uieforum - UIEForum is a complete forum system, that is intended to replace the existing drupal forum module.

With some theming and some other modules, this forum can be made to look just like popular forums people are used to. So it's not absolutely necessary to go and get an external application. Look at the CiviCRM (civicrm.org)forums as an example.
forum.civicrm.org is an SMF forum! Or is there another URL you can give us to look at?
Drupal forum is underpowered compared to most, but I like the simpleness and flexibility. If it has a subscribe button, I'd be happy!
