If you mean the blog menu item in administer -> menus. This item cannot be unlocked. My account cannot be unlocked either.

I can understand why these things should be locked, like the "My account" link, but for usability purposes wouldn't it be easier to at least be able to change the name? there must be some way...

I cannot. I wish I could place them into the block of my choice. For instance, I have created a block called Accounts which holds a log in link rather than the default sign in form (which I have disabled), and I would rather have all of the "My" kind of stuff in THAT block rather than the greater Nav.

ingenuity works.

Put all my type links in the main nav and create a new menu (hence a new block) and add the items there that you want to be in the main navigator and name it main nav.

That may work to a certain extent. I have also tried to put a link to my account in two places on the page, and Drupal locked the new link I created. Now it doesn't even recognize the other name I am trying to use for the link. I have no idea what is going on.
