Disable forum subject, view first and seperate permissions for pages

I´ve thinkering with drupal quite a while and have build a few sites with it . I believe it is a very powerfull tool and has great advantages over other CMS products once you get the hang of it.

This being said I am now implementing a forum into a site. While I don´t have much against using the standard out of the box forum I would like to make a change to it. When posting a comment in an existing thread/newspost you are not obliged to enter a subject, however if you do not enter one, the full text you enter in your post is set as subject of the post as well. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Example:
Entered post:
wgdjhsthfkghclkkh
g
gjkkckj

Subject:
wgdjhsthfkghclkkh g gjkkckj

And how can I modify the appearance of the forum to something I like (placing buttons somewhere else,...)?

Secondly, when entering a comment in the forums you need to preview first before you can post your message. Is there a way to submit messages at once, in stead of having to use preview first?

A third thing is to have permissions for pages where you can specify who or which group has access to it. Is threre a module for this? Also, is it possible to adjust page permission for forums (who can view, post,...)?

very annoying

This behaviour is very annoying, I wish there would at least be a option to disable it.
