It appears to me that adsense blocks will not work with mongodb_block module. The important configuration fields disappear in the admin block page.

Would this be an issue with mongodb, adsense, or both?

Most likely, mongodb, as the blocks follow Drupal's API and work fine otherwise..

Closing as a duplicate of #1163584: mongodb_block.module conflicts with block.module where you asked for help in the mongodb issue queue.
