I have noticed with the demo site that every once in a while the number of seeders or leechers will increase to some ridiculously huge numbers. When in actuality there might be one user seeding or leeching.

The new system updates the stats of torrents at set intervals and keeps the "live" information safe. In short the number of seeders and leechers is determined by COUNTing the number of active users with certain conditions being met. For example a COUNT of active users with 0 bytes left would be the number of seeders for any given torrent. This removes the possibility of inaccurate data due to buggy clients. It also makes the stats more accurate in that they reflect the actual data.
