The contribution date only specifies the time to the day. In civi we can see hours minutes and seconds so we should record this against the transaction time.

fwiw, this is an issue in UC CiviCRM too: http://drupal.org/node/1783618

I'm guessing the fix would be similar for Commerce CiviCRM...
