Is it possible that I can select an imagefield form a referenced entity for the poster?

Actually it is only going to pick up referenced video files. To get it to bring an a poster from a referenced file would require something like the ability to reference a field collection (so it knows which image to use for each video). It could be done, but it would be a bit of work to integrate this into the module.

If you reference a youtube media field it should fill in the thumbnail.

It's an audio node. So you have a mp3 file which you can upload and you can reference an image for the cover, that's my case.
