Unfortunately you have not published the 6.14 beta's as alternatives. So people missed those versions. At least I and my customer missed those :p

We were looking for why the defaults for nodes did not kicked-in similar(?) to #942206: Default values cannot be overridden in already created nodes.

You can only do that with different branches, e.g. 6.x-1.x vs 6.x-2.x, but not different releases within the same branch.
