close with a date?

Comment closer is moving in a useful direction for those of us whose web events follow periods. It'd be super if one could actually schedule closure in advance. My applications involve teaching, and I'm often putting up assignments and wanting essays back within say a week.. and of course the moment of closure is what lots of my students plan for;-) Course authoring systems such as WebCT are great in this regard since teachers are often, when they can, working a month or so ahead, and setting up things to open on week 5 and close at the end of week 10;-)
