Gallery Not Appearing in Image Node Creation Form

Description
A previously reported problem with certain group categories not having the correct node type (Image) assigned to them. I have not been able to identify the cause, but somehow after a group node is created, the category created for it loses Image as one of the content types to which the group category applies. The result is that the gallery for that group does not appear in the list of galleries in the Image node creation form.
