Hi, and thank you for this module.
I see a simple "Newsletter signup" checkbox on the registration and contact pages, but how do I make a block for this that I can put elsewhere on the site?

OK I'm a total idiot.
There IS a block created but I did not recognize it. It's called "Join [name of your CM list]". Perhaps this block could be renamed Campaign Monitor Signup Block" or some such more obvious name?
Also please note in the documentation that this module does provide a block that can be placed like other blocks.

I'm not sure what you mean with "this module does provide a block that can be placed like other blocks". But I would strongly recommend that you use the 3.0-beta3 as it's a "clean-up" of the 2.x branch.

OK thank you I will look at Beta.
I was just suggesting that the documentation let people know that the module provides a block that can be managed on the admin/build/block page and that it is called "Join [yourmailinglistname]"
Unless it was in there and I was idiotic enough not to see it.

I am also using Ubercart Checkout Signup module and it says there "This module has been tested with Ubercart 6.x-2.4 and Campaign Monitor 6.x-2.4" I am reluctant to mess with 3.0-beta3 for now, as I'm too much of a passive user (i.e.: Drupalidiot) to act as tester on a production site like the one I'm working on. But thank you so much for your work!
