Description

Just taking this idea from that discussion.

Using the taxonomy would open up interesting search capabilities. Since not all Exif data fits well as a taxonomy term, and also because there can be a lot of unwanted data, we would probably need some settings to select what tags get injected.

Thanks for this ;)

Have you any ideas as to what would be best included in taxonomy and what would be best kept separate?
I'm thinking Camera Make + Model, aperture/f-stop, shutter speed would be good starters. I think also there should be a separate iptc taxonomy and exif taxonomy (the module could even go as far as creating them either at install or from the admin menu) - it could get quite messy if the chosen exif keywords were in with the iptc keywords!

Yes, those tags you mention are good starters, but I guess it would be more flexible to let the site admin choose what fields should go in the taxonomy. I would go as far as letting the admin select/create a different vocabulary for each IPTC/Exif field. So one could have a Camera/Model vocabulary, an Aperture vocabulary, etc...

I would agree with letting the site admin choose; but it could get a bit out of hand if they want all exif tags as taxonomy!
I think it would be more beneficial to go thru' all the available exif tags, and then come with a subset that will actually benefit/work in taxonomy?

There could be an admin option to just display a table of the rest of the exif tags, what do you think?
