I have set a custom error message in the validator, but the validator still complains with Not a valid URL. additional to my error message. One error message should be enough.

I test it with a text field, and could not reproduce it.

I have the same issue. I have a required field. When it is not filled, I get both my custom error message that I set via the Field Validation module and the default message coming from Drupal for the same error.
