Its not possible to sort the " Connect to facebook.com" box under user profile Manage Fields/Display.

I'm not sure what fix you're suggesting here. Are you saying that button needs to be a field? That doesn't sound right to me.

You can configure fb_user.module to not insert that link. That might make it possible to put it in yourself in a different place.
