I see no way to add a subscriber whatsoever. I have activated the blocks. When I log out, and try to access the group page I just see a blank box. No link to subscribe. It doesn't matter if I have checked " List selective groups" or not.
I'm not sure if this might have something to do with it, but I misunderstood the "initialize access control" option. It says
Perform the queries necessary to enable or disable groups access control. You should perform this only once.
The problem is, once you submit the page, it remains checked. I added some Explanation/submission guidelines and wanted to save the configuration. Since the instructions say, only perform this once, I unchecked the box to prevent it repeating. Well, this ended up deactivating the module, so I had to reactivate it by checking the box again.
This is very confusing and seems to imply that I have done some sort of irreparable damage to my access configuration. Is it possible to wipe the slate clean and reinitialize everything? Does this have anything to do with the fact that there is no way to add subscribers to groups?
Thanks
Zach

to subscribe to a group, you
to subscribe to a group, you must be logged in and not a member of that group. When you get to the main group listing, click on the group you want to join, then you will see a group block appear. There should be a 'subscribe; link in that group block. If you are already a member of that group, the block will show you some group info and options. the block only appears when viewing the group homepage.
Ahaa
Yes, that was it exactly. I had logged out but I wasn't logged back in as another authenticated user.
