Posting to Blogs via email

Flea - February 23, 2005 - 22:29

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

I'm wondering if it is possible for people to post to their blogs via email, the situation at hand is some people that require the blogs would find it extremely useful to be able to post to them from their blackberries and such.

Thanks in Advance

For simple text posting, use mailhandler

The mailhandler module should handle plain text posts. You may also want to use the mailalias module so users can enter more than one email address to each account.

For more complex postings (like images, files, etc), you'd have to use the (currently experimental) moblog module, though it's currently non-trivial to set it up.

Any updates to moblog module out there?

We are covering CES next week for our radio show and just ported our site to Drupal. We really like Drupal, but are not PHP or SQL savvy. In the past we use textamerica.com to cover the show and we would love to keep everything 'local' on our Drupal site. We have the mail handler module working great, but really want to get the picture attachments via our Treo's.

Thanks.

The moblog module never made

The moblog module never made it into a "stable" mode. It needs more TLC than I have to give it. However, the CVS HEAD version should work with drupal 4.5. Also, it looks as though somebody else might adopt it. Good luck.

Hopefully the moblog module gets a good parent

I hope whom ever adopts the project does a good job and quickly. Thanks for the information. We will just post pics manually...we like the mail handler real well.
