After installing the field_storage module my field entity_reference no longer works.
When I tried to create/edit a content this field didnt work anymore :-(
It is this message that appears after trying to send a previously created node module installation.
The referenced entity (node: XXX) is invalid.

No answer in 6 years, 7.x is a legacy branch for which no new code is being developed, and the field_storage component has been unmaintained since mid-2014, so marking won't fix.
