I've added an alpha release, we'll fix it up and merge the missing features from 6.x-2.3 and then move toward a stable release.

There's no recommended release yet. Nice to see the 7.x-3.0-alpha1 but would be good to have a stable release.

@erikwebb: "patch (to be ported)" is actually for fixing things in older releases, say after a D7 patch has been committed, and now one needs to be created for D6. A tag is the more appropriate option in this case.

This is just a minor thing but the current recommended release (7.x-3.0-alpha2) is actually older than the latest 7.x release (7.x-3.0-alpha3)

Views Content Cache is very close to a stable release, which would be very welcomed by quite a few followers. According to the D7 stable release blocker:
