The image uploading function, which I have read is handled by IMCE in conjunction with the ckeditor, will not allow an upload from my computer. There's no "upload" button. It will only fetch from the web server, and that will not work for my client.

I have this in my reports section:
"Upload progress Not enabled
Your server is capable of displaying file upload progress, but does not have the required libraries. It is recommended to install the PECL uploadprogress library (preferred) or to install APC."

Is the IMCE or image uploading function dependent on this? My hosting company will not install these.

If this is the case, is there some way to use a different editor and uploader with Open Publish? I tried to edit WYSIWYG as I had done for another drupal install, but Open Publish seems to have this disabled. The other (non Open Publish) drupal install works fine on the same hosting service.

Please advise. Thank you.

Title: Image Uploading Doesn't Work, Server Limitations, Alternative to CKeditor » Add default IMCE settings for editors /admins
Category: support » feature

Hi,

We recommend adding images and files via the image fields provided.

IMCE currently isn't configured robustly be default in openpublish - you may need to go to admin/config/media/imce and setup profiles for the roles you wish to be able to upload.

The upload progress indicator is not necessary for IMCE to work.

I've changed this ticket to track the need for some default configuration here.
