Issue Summary
Hi,
Is there a way to check if the node was changed, without checking field by field? If not, then I'll change this issue to feature request ;)

No, it's currently not possible. This might be hard to do, because it's hard to tell which change means that anything has changed. E.g. the node updated time is going to change anyway.
Perhaps a solution would be to support all known (cck) fields and provide checkboxes, if they should be used for checking.

Markign as duplicate of #364173: Consolidate 'After saving new content' & 'After updating existing content' to 'Node is saved'.
