Great stuff!
I'm mostly creating Russian-only sites. But using administration pages in Russian is quite tedious. So i enable English language for my admin account.
This enables all the alias mess, and your module solves it.
A must-have, definitely! Please release it!
PS THANK YOU

klonos...better title for our dashboards. Would be great to be able to download a dev to play with instead of having to pull from git + we'd get update notifications if any new code is added.
zanndoth commentedI agree. This need's a proper release... since I have no idea how to pull from git. =x
Comment #3
akamaus commentedThanks for the positive feedback and sorry for such a late responce :)
Speaking about the current status, the module perfectly fits our needs and, I guess, the need of 95% regional developers. So it's quite feature-complete imho. If you have any feature requests, please let me know.
An initial release is a bit problematic, I guess. I have to approve the account first and I have doubts whether it's possible with such a minimalistic project. I didn't tried it, though. Should I?
lolmaus commentedI'm gonna make a neutral_paths-enabled site international.
So i need a batch way to set all (or some?) neutral aliases to a certain language while disabling neutral_paths.
Ankabout commentedGreat module!
akamaus, I suggest you try to get it approved (the account) anyways and release it. This module is a must-have, without having to go through the sandbox...
akamaus commentedOk, guys, you won :)

matsbla commentedI would like to help to test these codes. Maybe you can add it as a zip for those of us who don't know git?
matsbla commentedI would like to test this code! Can you add the module as a zip for those of us that don't know how to use git?
akamaus commented@all, I've pushed a few commits and changed the default branch. The configuration page was added. Please, consult the updated module page.
@matsbla, I've uploaded tar archive to http://vyal.ru/drupal7/neutral_paths-0.3.tar.gz
Please, don't rely on it as on a permanent link, though.
matsbla commentedI've tested it now an it works really good. It should be added to the pathauto module!

garrettrayj commentedWorking beautifully with Entity Translation. Thanks a lot! This module saved my bacon.
Carlos Miranda Levy commentedThis module saves the day, everyday. :-)
Without it pathauto in open unstructured multilingual sites is broken.
I took care to explain the issue in detail at http://drupal.org/node/1234924#comment-6509392 and on http://drupal.org/node/1234924#comment-6997866
If you need support to release this as a full module, and eventually upgrade it, just let us know.
kjbowrin commentedThis module fixed pathauto, thank you so much! :D

akamaus commented@Carlos Miranda Levy
Many thanks for your great explanations! We're already in the middle of a review process, see the thread: http://drupal.org/node/1954036. Unfortunately, looks like it has stalled, though.

klonosGreat news! Congrats @akamaus for getting the permission to promote this to a full project (#1954036: [D7] Neutral Paths).
Now, it would be nice if you created a 7.x-dev version so we can test more easily. Thanx in advance and congrats once again ;)

rolfo85 commentedHi,
Thanks for the module.
I have a problem. I work with Entity Translation.
For default setting i have checked the language fallback.
I have a new contents for default language in italian and the alias work correctly because are the same of italian language (also in the other languages, english for example).
Example:
"Chi siamo" (new contents created in italian language and not translated in other languages)
alias: "chi-siamo" (the alias is the same in all languages) Perfect !
The problem
If i translate the node "Chi siamo" in english for example, the result will be "About us" and the alias will be "about-us" good ! BUT.... if i switch to the italian languages, the node "Chi siamo" will have the alias "about-us" not "chi-siamo" .
Every translation of node that will be editing, will have the same alias shared in 2 languages. This things is correctly only if i don't have translations.
Can you help me ?

jedsaet commentedThe project application (#1954036: [D7] Neutral Paths) has already been approved, but the module has not been elevated to full project status. The module is really useful, so it would be great if this can be a full project so we can have more eyes on maintaining the code. :)

dddave commentedLooks like akamaus has left the community. This sandbox is promotion ready. Anybody with the git vetted user status can clone the sandbox and promote it to a full project.
bart.hanssens commentedIf no-one objects, I'd be happy to clone and promote the module...
dddave commentedPlease go for it. Ping this issue with a link to the full project and I am going to put a notice on the sandbox page to direct users to your full project.
akamaus commentedHello guys.
Unfortunately I'm not able to continue the development. Feel free to clone it. As an alternative I could give the maintenance rights to someone interested. Just express the willingness.
bart.hanssens commentedHello akamaus, thanks for the reply, would be nice if you could give me maintenance rights. Thanks.
bart.hanssens commentedSmall issue: a co-maintainer cannot promote a sandbox project, appears to be a bug. See #2369251: The issue is being a co-maintainer of sandbox with vetted git status cannot promote the sandbox
Comment #26
bart.hanssens commentedCorrected now, so initial release will be available soon
