Description

Wonderful work on making this module. Generations of Drupal Users will thank you for this :)

Now, I think its better that if I invite using my gmail contacts then all those invites must be sent using that gmail id.
Similarly if I invite from yahoo contacts, it should go from my yahoo id.

This way things will be better. The chances of the invite going into spambox will be lower this way.

Also, I think your module should be configured such that if an anonymous user imports contacts also, then it goes from his email id and not the website email id.

You may have to link with the Buddylist and Invite module maintainers in future too.....since invited registered users get added to Buddylist automatically.

Thanks

This is an interesting idea. Though the D5 version is no longer maintained, I'm going to consider adding support for this into the D6 version, since I think it makes sense to at least give the option for this.

After some thought I think I'm going to mark this ticket as won't fix. There's a couple issues, how does the importer know your gmail/yahoo/msn email addresses? Where do you input those? If you invite people to the site from several places then they'll all receive emails from different 'from' addresses. If they choose to reply directly to you then you'll be getting responses to the same email in different inboxes. I agree with you "spambox" comment though.

The anonymous support is interesting, but allowing this to be used by anonymous users is a recipe for spammers. Especially if they can drop in an arbitrary email address.
