Currently, you have to click on edit for each item and set the weight accordingly. If you've got a lot of items in the menu or block, it will take the admin forever to rearrange the order of the items. I think it would be much easier for the admin to have a weight box besides each item directly from (ADMINISTER > MENUS) so that he can set the weight on all items, and then just push save... so it would look a bit like this:
Menu Item................................ edit | disable | delete | weight-box
Does anyone else think that this might be a useful function?

sure...
we sure need this.... menu weight are so annoying and time-consuming
I would suggest to look at the "my Yahoo"
I agree you above...
'Yahoo is changing many aspects for user UI
I would suggest to look at the "my Yahoo" if you have an yahoo acoount -login
http://my.yahoo.com/
(similar functionality would imporove Drupal UI too) - without going to deep menus.
+ on every blog on your Yahoo blocks/columns
- movable action UP and DOWN
- change [+]ADD /[X] DELETE content
[ admin can assign which menu/content can be add - just like the current slectable theme option - but this option hidden deep in the user menu .. errr. 4 clicks reload away if you know the way.. a smart guy or a geek with lots of time unlike regular folks
otherwise Drupal user experience is perfect for regular geeks and geeks like intellectual challenges and complexity...
:)
Absolutely! Thanks for
Absolutely! Thanks for flagging this, but it would be great if you could post this as a feature request by raising an issue.
I have a horrible time managing weights for nearly 300 terms on my site and perfectly understand what you mean :(
