Recipe module rounding up fractions to 1

I am running a site that has a large and continually growing recipe section. All features were working fine until quite recently when all fractions in ingredients started changing to the number 1. I have attempted many fruitless efforts to try to remedy this. I am completely uncertain as to what preceded this change.

I hope someone can advise as soon as possible, as this is a major component of the site and quite necessary to function properly.
