Well I have researched a good deal and have
come up with nothing, which is odd considering
in my experience I have found that usually
someone else out there has had a similar
technical problem as you, and thus have already
discovered the solution. This has me baffled
however.
A few weeks ago my father installed the audio
module at his site. He was using Drupal 4,7.
Everything worked fine. A few days later, he
decided that it would be good time to upgrade
to Drupal 5.x and did so.
Ever since he upgraded his site the audio
module is screwy.
If you attempt to download the .mp3 from the
audio node link, or if you attempt to listen to
the mp3 using the any of the flash players then
for some reason it doesn't download or load
into the player the entire mp3 file.
What is odd is that the amount it loads will
vary from attempt to attempt. Sometimes it will
load almost all of it and other times only
about 14 minutes. ( his shows run @ 60
minutes.)
If you are downloading the file then the
downloaded file on your computer will act the
same. Open it in Audition, Windows media
player, or any other player and sometimes it
has more or less of the entire show than at
other times.
Our only work around has been to place a
complete direct path link to the mp3 (the same
file the audio node references ex.
http://sitename.com/files/audio/filename.mp3).
These links work fine. They load into the
quicktime player or allow you to download the
entire show flawlessly.
We have tried various bitrates and file sizes
and nothing seems to help. We have also
resinstalled the audio module from scratch.
Also we get a getid writing error when editing
audio nodes. Although, it doesn't give a
specific error number. (For us this isn't too
important of an issue although I wonder if it
has anything to do with it.)
Drupal version : 5.1.2
Audio module version: 5.x-1.3 was updated this
past week.
PHP version 4.3.11
I thank you all for your help and feedback
concerning this matter.
