I have noticed that if I enable jQuery 1.8 it is breaking some modules.

In particular the modules I have found to have problems with 1.8 are Mini-Panels and DrupalChat. With 1.8 enabled I cannot add content to a mini-panel. When selecting add content the page darkens but nothing happens. In DrupalChat the configuration UI loses most of the configuration options.

If I set jQuery to 1.7 neither of these modules have these issues.

I do not know if this problem originates in jQuery Update or the affected modules and I have no solutions or suggestions, just reporting some problems I have observed.

This isn't a jQuery Update issue. This is caused by other modules being incompatible with jQuery 1.8.
