Suggested Modules appears to be a duplicate of Module supports, which already has a lot of users. Module supports has no Drupal 7 version, and its status says it is looking for a new maintainer; please consider taking over as maintainer of that module, since you have a Drupal 7 version, and integrating the features available in that module (e.g., additional types of relationships between modules). That way there'd be an upgrade path for the existing users of module_supports.module, and there would be fewer similar modules for end users to have to wade through.

And a unified effort might be more successful in getting this into Drupal core eventually (I, for one, would like to see that).

Dammit. I must have searched for two hours about this for Drupal and didn't find anything, I searched for suggests, recommend... I could have swore I saw the directives in another module info file, but couldn't find anything.

I would be willing to port that to D7 because I find the UX inherantly useful for any admin, which is why I made this last Sunday.

Thanks for pointing that out- I never knew it existed. In the meantime, I started a port of that for D7 here:

http://drupal.org/node/1802634

I changed the name to be more broad, and made it so you could use a | to add a node id for an issue queue link.

Changing issue to get attention.

Problem:

"Suggested Modules" was created for Drupal 7 after searching for this solution, but not finding it in time before release. "Module Supports" was made for Drupal 6, but has not been touched/committed to in 3 years.

I've filed maintainership request in Module Supports issue queue and currently waiting out the 2 week minimum or response from Dave Reid- however, I also would like to change the title of that project to Info Extend. Info Extend is a combination of both module ideas, and for the time being I put it on my GitHub account here: https://github.com/kevinquillen/info-extend

What I would like is to release Info Extend for Drupal 7, not be in conflict with Module Supports, but also change the shortname/projectname to Info Extend and/or at least put a note on the Module Support page that Info Extend is the Drupal 7 alternative. I've refrained from simply creating a new project so I don't clutter the module list up, and looking for advice on what to do.

Status: Active » Closed (duplicate)

This is now a duplicate of #1800978: Requesting Maintainership of Module supports, except for the project name change, which should be a completely separate issue after ownership is transferred.
