Hi, I have a big problem that came out of nowhere! I need your help on this because the site is going to be live in a few days.!!

Yesterday I was "playing" in the Cpanel with the hotlinking feature. I enabled it disabled it and so on. I also installed yesterday the thickbox module and made a custom block with a login and register link for anonymous users so that thickbox would popup. I disabled the default login box. I also have minimenus, which is a module that also has register/login links.

The problem is that now if hotlinking is disabled I can't open the user/register page or even the user/login page. Whatever link I'm clicking on the frontpage is keeps returning me the front page!! I called my webhost and asked to return the hotlinking function back to defaults from their server, and so they did. But the problem persists!

I'm quite sure that the cause is the thickbox module. But I have uninstalled it [i uninstalled also the rememberme module and the poormanscron as an action of desperation].

What should I do? If I enable hotlinking things tend to be better but I keep on experiencing problems, like it won't open the register page, but all the links work...

Please I need every help I can get, the site is going to be live in a couple of days!

I'd imagine that using CPanel added something to the .htaccess file. Remove the .htaccess files... does functionality return ?

Are you refering to drupal's .htaccess file? or some other .htaccess file from cpanel?

I backed up and deleted drupal's .htaccess file. I tried to logout and ofcourse it gave me a 404 error cause there was no htaccess file. I restored an older copy of an htaccess file but things are the same... :(

any suggestions? i'm going crazy.. :(

UPDATE: I deleted the custom block I created for thickbox and things seem to work ok. All links open registration links and login links work. All that with the default options for hotlinking aka disabled. Now I will activate the rememberme, poormanscron and thickbox module again. Why on earth, did that custom block create all this mess?? Is there a problem if there are many links for register at the frontpage? I had minimenus and that custom block enabled, with the default login block disabled...
