Field collection fields and a attached view in another view

I haven't seen this "issue" discussed, but maybe I just haven't found it.

Anyway, I have created a view-block displaying a lot of fields, mostly Field collection fields. This works fine! But if I include that view-block in another view (using Views Attachment or "Global: View area") no Field collection fields show up (only the regular fields in the views-block show up).

Is this by design or is it something that will/can be fixed?
