I'm looking for something similar. I'd like to wire up a site for document management and provide a way to attach files to nodes by scanning them. I'd prefer not to have to make the user scan the file and store it locally before uploading it. I know this is going to have to rely on a Java-type component. I'd appreciate any input y'all have on such a component and how to wire it in to Drupal.

it is really strange that nobody is talking about this feature,
how can we make the user scan a document that will be uploaded directly to the Drupal form.

this is a very important feature and I have 2 clients requested it till this moment.

please someone answer us
