I'm not too sure how to explain this one, but somehow CKEditor clears out the text of the textareas it takes over.
If I remove CKEditor using a global exclusion (in CKEditor configuration) then the box appears just fine with the text as expected. So the text is there (I can also see it in the database) but if I edit the page with the editor, somehow, it gets removed--and that whether I use the full toolbar or the simplified toolbar so the toolbar is certainly not the culprit.
This only happens on one of my websites. Which browser I use has no effect (Mozilla based and IE all fail.) It happens on some boxes and not others, but when it happens it is consistent (i.e. I can edit 10 times the same box and every time it fails. 10 times another box that works and I'm just fine.) I looked at the Error Console and got no errors. Also, when it happens whatever I write in that editor, whether I click on Switch to plain text editor or not, it fails. I just cannot add any text. The capability is like gone.
Right now, it affects the two boxes under Administer » Site configuration » Site information. I had the problem also happen in the body of different nodes.
Note also that I had the same problem with the FCKeditor! I updated and the problem seemed to go away as I could edit a node that was failing with the old editor, but now I have that same problem on another page...

I just added the skinr module and the Fusion Mix & Match themes so I'm pretty confident that these are not the culprit since it was failing before.

AlexisWilke commentedWell! I was looking into a way to give you access to a site, but in between I noticed I had another site showing the behavior. Although the first site I had the problem with has the Mix and Match theme turned on, when I go to the Site information page (Administer » Site configuration » Site information) it's a different theme... However, I tested with now 2 other websites, and both exhibit the same problem when trying to change the Site information. I guess it has to do with Mix and Match!
If you would please try with that theme and see whether you also get that error, it would be great.

AlexisWilke commentedWell! Nevermind, actually this happens in all the websites I have now. Maybe in part because I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04, but since all my customers also complain about problems, it must be a little more than just my system (all my customers are under MS-Windows, I'm under Linux, and the same problems happen.)
Most of us make use of Firefox (I use SeaMonkey which runs with the Firefox engine to display pages, so it's nearly a 1 to 1 clone.)

AlexisWilke commentedJust in case I did an upgrade to CKEditor 3.6.4, but same thing. The sites that lose the data, lose it. I have a site where it works though.
Also I get an error in my console, it has nothing to do with the pages I load with the editor!?
