jquery update acts different than adding script manually

when i add
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.min.js"></script>
to my html.tpl.php manually
my sliders work
but when i add it with jquery update to 1..8.2 they don't work anymore.
why is this acting differently?

(i have a problem adding jquery manually, because it creates issues with removing images from a field)
