hello,
thanks for making this module even better (I love the fact that choosing which nodes it appears on finally works, and I love the rolling up and does feature.
Question: I'm wondering how the annotation sharing works? I tried granting permission to create sarable annotations to different roles, but nothing happens. I think more documentation is needed.
If this sharing still doesn't work, I'd request that it would work with Buddylist (so that one could choose who from buddies to share it with)
Feature request 2: I wonder if it would be possible to develop this module to an extent that one will be able to insert his own annotations at random places in large texts ... kinda like commenting is done in Word and Acrobat. What I have in mind is like when you read a book or any long article you tend to make notes on the sides and insert yellow postits .. and that's very engaging with the text. I'd say in the context of Web2.0 that kin of development would be proper interactive content.
Feature requst 2a: at the moment annotate appears only at the bottom of the content. But I'm wondering if if could be made to work as in point 2. This could be achieved with a floating button on the side which would say "+Insert Note here", pressing which would open up an AJAX window where that particular paragraph or sensence could be annotated. And so in many places around the same content.
Feature request 3: Would it be possible to get rid of the "Update" button altogether??? so that the text is saved as soon as one leaves the page.
Feature request 4: more AJAX!!!
these are some ideas to make this module even better. Once again, thanks a lot for this great module.

clemens.tolboomFeature 1. Annotation sharing
What is there to share?
- your annotation readable to others?
- your annotation editable to others?
- your annotation viewable to the node editors?
- ?
Feature 2. The 'roadmap' has this localized annotation request.
- I need a lot of technical data to build this feature. Please help.
Please join http://groups.drupal.org/annotate-module to discus what to build!!!

drupalina commentedThanks... I will join that group that you mentioned.
As for the sharing that is actually what I'm confused about at the moment. Because with this new version of the module the in the Access Controls there are new options for roles:
-Create and edit a shared annotation
-create private annotation
-make annotation available to others
I've enabled the second one for all roles, and I've evabled 1st and 3rd for Admin, but nothing happened. And I was just wondering what this shared annotation all about?

clemens.tolboomThat's the problem of a dev version. Not yet implemented features got committed.
The share annotation part is not yet implemented. I read your question as a feature discussion but it's a BUG!!! This shouldn't got released.

clemens.tolboomThis feature is now functional. An annotation is private, node editor readable or readable for others.
There is now also a list of annotation on a node and user basis.
