I just installed course on my Drupal 6 site. When I tried to load any page after I installed course, I got the "white screen of death" with this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in /home/scsroot/public_html/sites/all/modules/course/includes/course.outline.inc on line 149
I was unable to access any page of my site until I opened up course.outline.inc and deleted line 149. That at least allowed my site to become unbroken. Any help would be appreciated.

djdevinHi,
This is because you are using PHP 5.2. Course requires PHP 5.3 at the moment.
PHP 5.2 is considered "End of life" and should no longer be used as it will no longer receive updates.
If you absolutely must run PHP 5.2, that line is not really needed and you could replace it with
replace:
$max_object_count = $class::getMaxOccurences();
with
$max_object_count = 0;
This only affects the functionality for preventing certain course objects from being added to a course multiple times.
Please note there might be other places where PHP 5.3 is required.

dtrini commentedI have PHP 5.3 installed and got this error when I wasn't doing anything. This morning, no error. This evening, error.

djdevinHi,
This error is definitely related to not having PHP 5.3. Can you please verify that the server is running PHP 5.3? The version on your console vs the version in Apache may be different.
