As an alternative to the inline diff block's dropdown, a js slider widget would be a killer feature.

This has been done before for wikipedia:

(warning: the greasemonkey script is out of date, so don't waste your time.)

Is there a demo page or did I miss that on the pages I looked at?

The link to Jon Udell's wikiAnimate screencast was pretty well hidden.

Edit: wikiAnimate, not WikiDiff

Title: Inline Diff: History Slider » Horizontal navigation of revisions

Aside from the javascript animation (see a more modern example in etherpad: http://lullapad.com/ep/pad/view/drupalorg-renovations/latest ), I think the main crux of this improvement would be adding horizontal navigation, like:

<< Previous Revision || Revision #: (Summary) || Next Revision >>

This is probably more so an issue for core than diff. See also: #1776796: Provide a better UX for creating, editing & managing draft revisions..

Given the proximity of EOL for Drupal 7, marking this as won't fix. The likely final Drupal 7 release of diff has landed in https://www.drupal.org/project/diff/releases/7.x-3.5. If this is something still applicable to a more modern version of the module, feel free to re-open and post additional notes.
